Commonly known as “The Great Race,” the 1908 event remains the longest and most grueling motorsport competition in history, covering over 22,000 miles across three continents. This exclusive afternoon offers guests a rare opportunity to hear personal family stories and behind-the-scenes accounts of the race that proved the endurance of the early automobile.

Event highlights include a special living history presentation from the direct descendant of the winning driver, a 1911 Thomas Flyer live at the museum, all access to the museum’s collection of rare and vintage vehicles, and a selection of food and beverages.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the museum’s ongoing preservation and educational programs.

“This is more than just a car show; it’s a celebration of human grit and mechanical innovation,” says Jim Taylor, President of the Museum. “To have a direct link to the 1908 Great Race right here in Kernersville is an honor we want to share with the entire community.”
